PONTE VEDRA
[edit]There is a new town called just Ponte Vedra. This should be added instead of being redirected to Ponte Vedra Beach. The zip code is 32081 instead of 32082. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.177.58.10 (talk) 18:19, 14 January 2007 (UTC).
Separation of Ponte Vedra and the beach
[edit]I disagree with User:Cuchullain who sees no difference between PV and the beach. However, homeowners west of the intercoastal waterway do not consider themselves beach residents, and Nease High School is not at Ponte Vedra Beach. Even the Post Office acknowledges the distinction when they added zip code 32081 and designated it as Ponte Vedra, not another zip code for Ponte Vedra Beach. Mgrē@sŏn 13:57, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- You'd need sources. Your article only had one news article that alluded to there being a distinction between "Ponte Vedra" and Ponte Vedra Beach, and city-data.com, which isn't particularly reliable. I don't think most people or sources identify the part on the west side of the Intracoastal as "Ponte Vedra" in distinction from PVB - they usually say Nease High School is in Palm Valley, for instance. I think most people from the area consider the term "Ponte Vedra" just to be short for Ponte Vedra Beach.--Cúchullain t/c 14:10, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
- Most of the new sources seem like WP:SYNTH. The news article does not even mention "Ponte Vedra". Two other references are to a residential development's webpage and a high school's web page. Obviously we can't be basing an article on that! If there aren't any reliable sources that discuss this directly, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.--Cúchullain t/c 16:33, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
